This morning, we woke up to the sounds of goats and camels moaning at a Bedouin tent in the middle of the desert, at the ripe hour of 6:30 am (may I remind you that the night before we had woken up at 2:00 am to prepare for our sunrise hike up Masada). Our breakfast consisted of eggs, cereal, pita, pudding, and other various foods. After breakfast, we made our way to the edge of the village, where we met our new friends, camels!  Our camel ride was a blast. We rode around the desert and saw a beautiful view of the Bedouin village. After our camel ride, we made our way to the Bedouin city of Segev Shalom where we had a jewelry making workshop. Then we went to a park where our tour guide Noa led us in a relaxing meditation. After that, we played games. We then went to Beer Sheva for lunch and a tour from a guide named Gabe. We talked about the impacts of stereotypes, economic inequality, and the difference between knowing of issues and experiencing them firsthand.   Our day ended at Kibbutz Tzeelim, where we befriended the local cats and dogs and ate dinner in the dining hall. All in all, this day was one of the more chill ones. After our vigorous day yesterday, it was very relaxing to have a day where we could meditate and take a few naps on the bus. Despite that, we are all looking forward to tomorrow!! (And sleeping on actual mattresses this time…) – Hana A.
