On Land and in the Water

Today was another amazing day here in the Negev of Israel. We started off our day at a youth hostel in Mitzpe Ramon. After getting in late Monday night, the group was energized for an adventurous day after breakfast. Shortly after the morning meal, we headed out to the famous crater at Mitzpe Ramon. It was a beautiful sight, and we were all able to enjoy the view. To add to the adventure, we sat like birds looking over the miraculous crater.

Shortly after the viewing, we headed towards the visitor center and watched some videos learning about the surrounding desert and creation of the crater. Once the videos ended, we realized we had some extra time. Thankfully, our wonderful tour guide Noa and driver Amjad were able to take us down to a spontaneous water hole in the crater. It was an incredible experience, as the hole does not fill at all times of the year.

Next, we were on our way to Eilat, the famous beach town of Israel. We spent around three hours at the hot beaches, and took time to look around the surrounding shops.

After we finished up at the beach, it was time to take the drive over to our hotel for the next three nights, Kibbutz Ketura. After arriving, we spent an hour touring the kibbutz, followed by a barbecue and pool party to end the night. As we rest up for tomorrow, we look forward to another great Shabbat.
